A Look Back: Our Favorite Moments of 2018

The start of a new year is the perfect time to reflect on the successes of the previous year, and we couldn’t be prouder of everything we’ve accomplished at AIFP in 2018. Here are some of the highlights, both at the company and employee level.

AIFP Growth Stats for 2018

At AIFP, we’re always looking to grow and improve. That means hiring for our trader jobs, growing the admin team, and increasing our total sales. Here are the growth stats we’re most proud of in 2018.

• Profit Growth: In 2018, we grew company sales dollars by 10%, with us selling over $600,000,000 for the year.
• Shipping Growth: For the third straight year, we’ve shipped over one billion board feet of building materials into North America, including everything from cedar to steel.
• Employee Growth: In 2018, we hired three new trainees and graduated four trainees to rookie trader status, which means we now have 36 commodities traders at AIFP! The best part? Best Company Moments of 2018

It’s no secret that we believe in celebrating hard work and cultivating fun social opportunities for our employees. In fact, we celebrate our employees’ efforts with at least one out-of-the-office social event every month, including awesome opportunities to give back give back to our community. In no particular order, here are our favorite company event moments of 2018.

Our All-Company Las Vegas Weekend Trip

Nothing beats getting the whole company together in Las Vegas! This May, we set out with the whole team for a weekend of food, fun, and team bonding in Sin City.

St. Mary’s Home for Boys & Oregon Food Bank Volunteer Opportunities

This year, we’ve increased our involvement with Oregon Food Bank and St. Mary’s Home for Boys, a residential treatment and service center for at-risk boys between the ages of 10 and 17. Because we work with these organizations year-round, it’s hard to choose a specific moment to highlight, but our employees love the opportunity to serve as role models and make a meaningful impact on the Oregon community.

Hood to Coast Relay

During Labor Day weekend, we sent a team of runners on the Hood to Coast Relay, a 200-mile race from Timberline Lodge at Mount Hood, through the Portland metropolitan area to Seaside, Oregon. Not only did they get a chance to put their running skills to the test, but they also raised money for the Providence Cancer Institute.

Spirit Cruise on the Willamette

This August, our team was able to hop aboard a Spirit Cruise to take in the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. Not only did our employees experience the stunning river views, but it also offered an opportunity for our team to forge unforgettable memories out on the water.
