U.S. Dimensional Lumber

VARIETY

Our U.S. lumber department offers a variety of species, lengths, sizes and grades as well as treatment options. We specialize in green and dry douglas fir, hem fir, white fir and larch options to fit all business needs. With our close connections and partnerships, we also offer custom cut lengths such as 92 5/8" and 104 5/8" with mixed truckload and rail car options to fit your needs.

STRENGTH

Douglas fir is a great choice for construction, frames, and truss manufacturing as it has great flexibility, but is also very durable. It has a good strength to weight ratio and can be stable in regions with extreme temperatures or moisture. It also tends to not expand as much as other softwoods. Hem fir tends to be one of the stronger softwoods which helps for projects that require more load-bearing qualifications.

WORKABILITY

Materials such as douglas fir can be great to work with as they are quite flexible, making them good options for manufacturing and turning. It can also be relatively easy materials to work with when needing to shape, plane and sand. Hem fir is great for decorative projects both indoor and out as it takes well to sealants and finishes. When kiln dried it can make for great indoor projects such as paneling, flooring and furniture.

VERSATILITY

Our U.S. Lumber traders know how versatile douglas fir and hem fir lumber can be, but do you? Not only are they great for structural projects such as framing, trusses, decks and patios, and outdoor structures like gazebos, but they also make for great furniture and outdoor esthetics such as fencing. When pressure treated they also are less susceptible to rotting, fungal decay and termites!
